Farmer Opportunity Details
Locations: Hunterdon, Warren County
Over the last few years we have racked up quite a diverse set of skills. We have participated in raising and butchering chickens and turkeys, helping to get an 8,000 sqft aquaponics greenhouse up and running and operational, as well as starting multiple gardens in various location in Morris, Hunterdon, and Warren counties. We have done all of this on other people's property and from afar as we currently live in Morris county in the suburbs. We have since launched our Local Food Heroes program out of Veterans Haven North.
We're currently looking to expand our experience and ideally looking for partnerships and apprenticeships. We'd like to stay in NJ, and assist/partner with farmers that are seeking help. We are a family of 4 that homeschools our 2 daughters. Father (Eli) is the serial entrepreneur and homeschools our girls, Rian and Lucy. A big part of our homeschool journey is around sustainable agricultural and our non profit that helps to teach gardening skills and house veterans. Wife (Janet) works for the state of NJ and moonlights as the president of our non profit along with assisting in homeschooling. We're seeking other like-minded families to expand and manage existing farm operations so that we can live this way full time, building a community around regenerative farming and sustainable living.
